About Sn. Samatamurti

Samatamurti has been practicing Satyananda Yoga since 2004. She is a karma sannyasa and specializes in instructing yoga to children in schools and for people with special needs. She is a foster mother and lives with her two children in New Jersey.

Yoga Nidra and Meditation with Karunadhara

Each class will begin with a brief discussion introducing Yoga Nidra and one of two complementary meditation practices: Kaya Sthairyam (body steadiness) or Antar Mouna (inner silence). This short teaching helps participants understand the purpose and benefits of the practices before settling in.

The session will then move into a 15–20 minute guided Yoga Nidra, a deeply restorative practice done lying down or seated comfortably, followed by a 10–15 minute seated meditation to cultivate inner awareness, stillness, and clarity.

This weekly practice is designed to improve sleep quality, lower stress, calm the nervous system, and increase overall energy and focus, making it an ideal midday reset.
