Serve, Love, Give in Daily Life

with Sannyasi Gyanmitra

Saturday, May 16, 2026 | 6.00pm - 7.15pm EST

How do we carry the light of spiritual inspiration into the ordinary moments of daily life?

Swami Niranjanananda has beautifully expressed the living spirit of Swami Sivananda’s eightfold path—ashtanga yoga—through the vision of the three ashrams: Rikhiapeeth, Ganga Darshan Vishwa Yogapeeth, and Sannyasa Peeth.

Each embodies a simple yet powerful mandate for living: Serve, Love, Give; Purify, Meditate, Realise; and Be Good, Do Good. Together, they show us that spiritual life is not separate from daily life, it is meant to be lived through it.

While many of us feel inspired by these ideals, it can be challenging to translate them into everyday life, especially alongside work, family, and other responsibilities. This session opens a practical and grounded conversation on how to do just that.

In this month’s Satsang, join Sannyasi Gyanmitra to explore how we can integrate the teachings and inspiration as shared by our lineage in modern day living, no matter our circumstances.

By the end of this Satsang, you will:

•  Understand the meaning of “Serve, Love, Give” in a practical, everyday context, and how they form the foundation for the further stages of “Purify, Meditate, Realise”

• Discover simple ways to support and connect with your local community.

•  Learn how small, consistent actions can create a sense of purpose and fulfilment.

•  Explore how service can support personal growth and inner balance.

•  Feel more confident bringing aspects of service into your life, even with a busy schedule.

Who this is for:

This session is open to anyone interested in living with greater compassion, connection, and purpose, whether you are new to yoga philosophy or already on a spiritual path.

About Sannyasi Gyanmitra

Gyanmitra has been involved with the Satyananda / Bihar Yoga tradition for over 20 years, joining the 4 month Certificate Course in Yogic Studies in Munger from 2003-2004. Returning for the one year Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Yogic Science over 2004-2005, this was followed by many years of ashram life and training in Munger and Rikhia, as well as Mangrove Mountain and Rocklyn Yoga Ashram in Australia.

Gyanmitra completed the 3 year Sannyasa Training over 2012-2014 under the guidance of Swami Niranjanananda, and returns to both Rikhia and Munger regularly.

Her extensive training and personal experience have ignited a deep appreciation of the transformative benefits of living and training within the traditional yogic systems, following the ideals of seva (selfless service), sadhana (spiritual practice), swadhyaya (self-study), and satsang (association with truth).

Gyanmitra’s interest lies in the practical application of yogic tools in daily life, cultivating awareness, and awakening one’s true potential and that of others. She combines tradition and training with a practical and down to earth approach, making the yogic and lifestyle teachings from the lineage of our Gurus accessible to all.
