Monthly Satsang
Serve, Love, Give in Daily Life
with Sannyasi Gyanmitra
Saturday, May 16, 2026 | 6.00pm - 7.15pm EST
ONLINE VIA ZOOM
This is a free event.
How do we carry the light of spiritual inspiration into the ordinary moments of daily life?
Swami Niranjanananda has beautifully expressed the living spirit of Swami Sivananda’s eightfold path—ashtanga yoga—through the vision of the three ashrams: Rikhiapeeth, Ganga Darshan Vishwa Yogapeeth, and Sannyasa Peeth. Each embodies a simple yet powerful mandate for living: Serve, Love, Give; Purify, Meditate, Realise; and Be Good, Do Good.
Together, they show us that spiritual life is not separate from daily life, it is meant to be lived through it. While many of us feel inspired by these ideals, it can be challenging to translate them into everyday life, especially alongside work, family, and other responsibilities. This session opens a practical and grounded conversation on how to do just that.
In this month’s Satsang, join Sannyasi Gyanmitra to explore how we can integrate the teachings and inspiration as shared by our lineage in modern day living, no matter our circumstances.
By the end of this Satsang, you will:
• Understand the meaning of “Serve, Love, Give” in a practical, everyday context, and how they form the foundation for the further stages of “Purify, Meditate, Realise”
• Discover simple ways to support and connect with your local community.
• Learn how small, consistent actions can create a sense of purpose and fulfilment.
• Explore how service can support personal growth and inner balance.
• Feel more confident bringing aspects of service into your life, even with a busy schedule.
Who this is for: This session is open to anyone interested in living with greater compassion, connection, and purpose, whether you are new to yoga philosophy or already on a spiritual path.Verify 6.00pm ET in your time zone here.

Ganesha Mantra & Yantra Online Workshop
Ganesha Mantra & Yantra
Online Workshop
Sunday July 26th, 11:00a-2:00p EST
with Sannyasi Brahmananda Saraswati
Mantra and Yantra are the tools of tantric practice. They represent sound and form, consciousness and energy. The combined use of these tools aims to focus the mind, expand the awareness and to explore inner states of consciousness.
The created symbol becomes a vehicle through which we can deepen our understanding of the more subtle layers of the mind and personality and our relationship with the internal and external expression of these energies.
We will dedicate this session to the mantra and yantra of Ganesh, the well-loved elephant headed deity of the Indian tradition. He is worshiped as the remover of obstacles, (and sometimes the creator!) on the material and spiritual levels of life. In most ritual and worship, he is always approached first as the one to clear the way for our sadhana.
Also known as Ganapati, he is the patron of arts and sciences, the god of intellect, wisdom and new beginnings.
In this three-hour session, we will have a glimpse of the mythology and iconography of Ganesh; chant mantras to honour and invoke, followed by a guided process of drawing the Ganesh Yantra. There will be some input regarding the colours of the yantra and then you will be able to complete painting in your own time.
Yantras can be drawn freehand but we will focus on a geometric construction using compass and straight edge, exploring the connections and parallels between cultures and what is sometimes called ‘sacred geometry’
The process of yantra drawing with accompanying mantra repetition creates a spontaneous one-pointedness of mind. It is essentially a practice of bhakti, and the created yantra is a symbol combining archetypal ingredients – squares, circles, triangles and petals, that resonate with the subconscious and unconscious mind and can reveal to us maps of our inner consciousness and the energies at play in inner and outer worlds. It can be a deeply healing and insightful practice.

Monthly Satsang
Mantra and Yantra
with Sannyasi Brahmananda
Sunday, April 19, 2026 | 12.00pm - 1.15pm EST
ONLINE VIA ZOOM
This is a free event.
Mantra and Yantra are the tools of Tantra. They represent sound and form and on the most fundamental level, the expressions of energy and consciousness, Siva and Sakti.
The combined use of these tools is used to focus the mind, expand the awareness and develop an understanding of the more subtle layers of mind and personality.
In this session we will look at how sound and form relate to each other and the expression and use of this relationship in the practice of mantra and yantra in our sadhana.
The process of yantra drawing with accompanying mantra repetition creates a spontaneous one-pointedness of mind. The yantra is a symbol combining archetypal ingredients – squares, circles, triangles and petals, that resonate with the subconscious and unconscious mind and can reveal to us maps of our inner consciousness and the energies at play in inner and outer worlds. It can be a deeply healing and insightful practice.
The universal concepts of what is referred to as ‘sacred geometry’ will be explored and how this underlying fabric lies also at the base of the creation of yantra. It is a knowledge and practice of a universal nature, expressed by different cultures in different ways, all with an understanding of how the use of abstract symbols as a meditative tool has the potential to reconnect us with a deeper reality.

The Architecture of Resilience:
Nervous System Regulation for Teachers and Practitioners.
with Swami Karma Karuna Saraswati
Sunday, March 15, 2026
6.00pm - 7.15pm EST
ONLINE VIA ZOOM
This is a free event.
How do we remain anchored when the world feels turbulent? For practitioners, yoga teachers and their students, true resilience is the "muscle of the soul," a conscious return to center that allows us to ride the waves of life.
In this 75-minute interactive Satsang, we explore how understanding the nervous system and building resilience transforms us and supports us to face the ups and downs. We will review how the stages of Yoga Nidra, from establishing Pratyahara to working with our deeper roots—systematically rewire the stress response. This practice supports the teacher’s own vitality while providing essential tools for all to use during life’s challenges.
What We Will Explore:
The Science of "Being": Shift from high-beta stress frequencies into restorative alpha and theta brainwave states.
Practical Vagal Hacks: 60-second tools to find your center before teaching or in the middle of the challenges of your day.
The Art of Co-regulation: Learn how your own Vagal Tone acts as an "anchor," directly influencing the safety and depth of your experience with others including the classroom environment for yoga teachers.
Trauma-Informed Nuance: Re-examine the Window of Tolerance to support students who find stillness challenging.
Integrated Practice: A deep Yoga Nidra journey designed to reset the nervous system for both professional and personal renewal.
Time for Q and A: Ask your questions on the nervous system, Yoga Nidra and other relevant topics.
"Resilience is the muscle of the soul. It is developed through the conscious choice to return to center, time and time again." — Swami Karma Karuna

Yoga As A Way Of Life
with Swami Vijayashakti Saraswati
Saturday, February 7, 2026
6.00pm - 7.15pm EST
ONLINE VIA ZOOM
This is a free event.
Drawing on the vision articulated by Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, this session explores yoga not simply as a collection of techniques, but as an integrated way of living.
Within the Satyananda-Bihar Yoga tradition, yoga is understood as an approach to daily life that supports clarity of mind, softening of the heart, and a harmonious relationship with the world.
The session reflects on how the cornerstones of a yoga lifestyle — the yama and niyama, along with the yoga capsules we practise — gradually shift yoga from something we do into something vibrant that we live, shaping a more integrated perception of life. Through consistency and sincerity, a yoga lifestyle naturally cultivates contentment, happiness, and positive connection over time.
The theme will be explored through practice, reflection, and shared discussion.

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra Chanting for Health and Healing.
Every Saturday, at the Bihar School of Yoga and other Satyananda Yoga centers around the world - in homes, yoga centres, or ashrams– people gather to chant a healing mantra called the Mahamrityunjaya mantra.
This mantra is chanted 108 times, completing one round of a mala. It is a universal mantra from the Vedic tradition, and is chanted for health, healing, wellbeing and support during challenging times.
This mantra is often combined with an ancient fire ceremony, known as Havan. This ritual amplifies the effects of the mantra and helps to purify the environment.
With the repetition of each mantra Samagri and ghee are offered to the fire. Samagri is a mixture of aromatic herbs, grains and seeds that cleanse and purify the environment.
As per the tradition, we will read out aloud the names of individuals, intentions, or reasons for remembrance, along with their location, before we begin chanting 108 rounds of the Maha-mrit-yun-jaya mantra.
Throughout the practice we hold the intention of health, happiness and wellbeing for all in our hearts while chanting,

Monthly Satsang
SWAN Meditation
with Swami Vedantanananda Saraswati
Sunday, January 11, 2026
12.00pm - 1.15pm EST
ONLINE VIA ZOOM
This is a free event.
SWAN is an acronym S for Strengths, W for weaknesses, A for ambitions, aspirations or aims, N for needs and was developed by Swami Niranjan in the 1990`s.
When we practice sadhana different things are stirred up and there is always something to work with in life
SWAN gives us a chance to look at traits in our personalities. Through this practice, we are practising Swadhyaya – study of the self, whether it is on or off the mat.
We discover who we are, our self. Not the self we project, or the self other people think we are but our real Self
What are our strengths? – they are our positive qualities, things we are good at, where we excel, whether that be physically, mentally or emotionally
Our weaknesses are things that limit us, things we are not so good at – lack of confidence, fears, inferiorities, our short comings, limitations, again these apply in all areas of our being, physical, mental and emotional. We are all less than perfect
Next is ambitions, aspirations or aims. These can be short term, mid-term or long term aims or goals. We need direction and action in life – if you don`t know where you are going you will never get there.
Last and by no means least our Needs – 1st we need to discriminate between needing and wanting or desiring. What do we need to nurture ourselves? On a physical level we need, food, water, sleep, air of course. What do we need to consider our mental and emotional needs, to express, to be happy, content, fulfilled.
Please bring along paper and pen to make a list of your strengths, weaknesses, ambitions and needs. You may also like to give this some thought before the programme.
This exercise starts with an off the mat sadhana and can be very revealing, it will give us plenty to work with in our on the mat sadhana.
We will finish this Satsang with a SWAN meditation.

Each session includes mantra chanting (11 rounds of the Maha Mrityunjaya and Gayatri mantras), gentle yet effective asanas from the Pawanmuktasana series, Surya Namaskar, and selected postures to enhance strength and flexibility.
The class offers calming pranayama (yogic breathing and Nadi Shodhana), a guided deep relaxation (Shavasana or Yoga Nidra), and concludes with Om chanting and Shanti Path.
